The Program: Southeast has a direct exchange agreement with the Universidad Antonio de Nebrija in Madrid, Spain. Madrid is Spain's capital and commercial center and has over 4 million inhabitants. Situated in the center of Spain, this metropolis is best known for the Prado, one of the world's oldest and finest art collections, the Gran Via, the magnificent Palacio Real, and the Plaza Mayor.
Academic Program & Calendar: Students with one year of Spanish can enroll in intensive Spanish language classes at NEBRIJA. Students with two years of Spanish can enroll in advanced language courses and in other disciplines. Fall Semester is September - Early-February; Spring Semester is Early-February - Mid-June. Those taking only Spanish courses will complete their semesters in December for the Fall Semester and in May for the Spring Semester.
Room & Board: Most students will live with families (approximately $780-$925 per month) or will stay in NEBRIJA's dormitories. Meals can be taken in the University's cafeteria at a reasonable cost.

Southeast Tuition (12 credits): $2202 (in-state)/$3852 (out-of-state)
Administration Fee: $250
Other costs: Airfare, housing, books, and incidental costs are additional and will vary from student to student. Departmental scholarships are available to help defray costs.
Eligibility: Sophomores, juniors, and seniors, with a minimum overall GPA of 2.7, are eligible to apply for the exchange. Applicants must express a strong desire to learn Spanish and must be in good academic standing at the time of departure. Spanish majors will be given preference.
Credit: Up to 12-15 credit hours of academic work at UNNE may be transferred to Southeast and recorded on the Southeast transcript. Letter grades will be recorded on the student's Southeast transcript upon return. Students should confer with Spanish faculty before going to Spain and should return to Southeast with appropriate materials for faculty to evaluate course content, such as syllabi, written work, exams.
Application Process: Application materials are available from the Department of Modern Languages, Anthropology and Geography and must be completed by October 15th for the Spring Semester and by February 15th for the Fall Semester. Upon receipt of the application and supporting materials, each candidate will be interviewed by the selection committee.
