Also in the Mathematics Department, two mathematics students participated in the following conference presentations:
Chris Broyles presented the thesis to classify the intersections of two distinct quadric surfaces in projective 3-D space. He gave this presentation on this thesis at the Show Me Undergraduate Math Conference in November 2009. Nancy Muller presented the thesis to extend the result of Morely's Theorem concerning trisection of interior angles of an arbitrary triangle to n-section, and to regualr n-gons. She gave this presentation on this thesis at the MAA Missouri Section Meeting in Spring 2009.
Accepted Paper: Two Approaches of Studying Singularity of Projective Conics. (C. Broyles, L. Muller, M. Tikoo, and H. Wang). The International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science & Technology has accepted this paper, and its currently in press.
