Office of Research and Grant Development

The Office of Research and Grant Development (RGD) can locate federal, state and private sector grants and other external funding, as well as provide support for grant proposal development. All university grant proposals, including those that involve Southeast Missouri State University in a sub-contracting relationship, must be submitted through the RGD.

The Office of Research and Grant Development supports grant seeking efforts in the following ways:

• Providing workshops and identifying training opportunities about grant seeking.
• Searching for grants and other external funding opportunities.
• Connecting faculty with researchers, artists, innovators, or any like-minded individuals to form collaborative partnerships for the purpose of grant seeking.
• Reviewing / editing narrative language for grant submissions.
• Providing technical assistance and support for crafting budgets, outcome measures, and other requirements of grant submissions.
• Researching and providing advice about applicable federal guidelines and assurances required for conducting research and outreach programs (including human subjects).
• Seeking the internal approvals required for grant submissions.
• Submitting grant applications and completing standard application paperwork.

Access subscription databases, agency websites and automated email services that can help you search for and monitor funding opportunities.

Forms:

Download a budget template or the External Funding Request (EFR) Form required to route proposals for approval prior to submission.

Institutional "boilerplate" information, FAQs, and complete procedures and guidance for searching, preparing and submitting grant proposals at Southeast Missouri State University.

Abstracts of externally sponsored programs and research at Southeast Missouri State University.

Faculty Expertise Database:

This faculty database is searchable by areas of expertise and research, which may include scientific research, teaching focus, independent academic interests, practical experience, publication topics, etc.  The database can be used to find collaborators, mentors or partners for projects.
