Scholarships There are many scholarships at Southeast Missouri State University available to students who demonstrate high academic and personal achievement. In addition to general University scholarships, the Harrison College of Business has many other scholarship and financial assistance opportunities. BOEING MINORITY MIS SCHOLARSHIP. The scholarship will be awarded to those students who will be analyzed based on the following criteria: minority student; declared Management Information Systems (MIS) major; overall gpa of 3.0 or better for courses taken at Southeast; composite ACT score of 21 or better; one-page statement of career objectives; completed application form; minimum of 30 credit hours taken at Southeast; statement of financial need. Application deadline is October 15. BUSINESS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP. Begins fall 2005 for upper-division business students. Covers one-half of the incidental fees for 12-15 undergraduate credit hours per semester. Scholarship is targeted to working students living at home. Student must demonstrate financial need as verified by the FAFSA form and be a declared major in business with a 3.0 gpa. Recipient is eligible for a continuing award but must reapply each year. SCHOTT AND VAN DE VEN CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS. Applicant must be an accounting major with 60 hours and a minimum 2.75 gpa or be the child of a present or deceased employee and have completed 30 hours with a minimum 2.75 gpa. This scholarship requires a separate application available from Student Financial Services. Deadline is March 1. 3011. BEATRICE DEMPSTER COLLEGE OF BUSINESS. Open to Business majors with a 3.0 GPA who have completed 45 credit hours. Financial need is a consideration. Deadline is March 1. 3012. E. VICTOR WILLIAMS (LEGG-Learn, Earn, Give, Grow). This scholarship is open to Marketing majors who have completed 60 credit hours with a 3.0 GPA at the time of application. Selection will be based on scholarship and service, with service to the Marketing Club and Marketing Department given priority. Deadline is April 15. 3028. MILDRED WALLACE MEMORIAL. Open to students majoring in a business field who have completed 60 hours with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Financial need may also be a consideration. Application deadline is March 1. 3030. WALTER ROTH AND MARTIN BENDER ROTH. Open to students who have completed 24 credit hours at Southeast with a 3.0 GPA; have declared a double major in Math and Accounting, a major in Accounting and a minor in Math, or a major in Math and a minor in Accounting; and have financial need. If the above criteria cannot be met, Finance may be substituted for Accounting and Computer Science maybe substituted for Math. Deadline is March 1. 3036. MARCIA LOUANN CUTSINGER MEMORIAL. Open to students entering their junior year who are Business or Marketing majors with a 2.5 GPA. Financial need is a determining factor. Award is renewable for recipient's senior year, provided recipient remains in good standing. Deadline is March 1. 3038. DAVID E. HOCHE MEMORIAL. Open to students who have completed their freshman year in college, are majoring in Accounting, and graduated from Cape Central High School. Applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA and show financial need. Scholarship is renewable. Deadline is March 1. 3042. E. GENE GREABLE ACCOUNTING. Open to junior or senior Accounting majors. Selection is based on scholarship, financial need, and the promise of success in accounting. Deadline is March 1. 3060. JOHN GLENN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION. Open to graduates of Puxico, Zalma, Ellsinore or Greenville high schools majoring in Business Administration. Preference will be given to students with 45 credit hours completed and those who are direct descendents of Betty (Berry) and John Glenn. If related, applicant must state relationship on application. The applicant cannot be a non-traditional student. Deadline is March 1. 3064. WILVER W. AND DOLORES H. WESSEL. Open to students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and 60 credit hours completed who are from middle-income families. Applicants must be majoring in Business and be residents of a county in Southeast's service area south of Ste. Genevieve, and north of Dunklin and Pemiscot Counties. Good moral character and financial need is a consideration. Deadline is March 1. 3074. GEORGE A. DEMPSTER MEMORIAL. Open to Business majors who have completed a minimum 45 credit hours at time of application. Selection will be based on scholarship, promise of success in field of study, and financial need. Deadline is March 1. 3081. VIOLA BOYCE VOGEL. Open to entering freshmen or students currently enrolled at the University majoring in Business. Preference will be given to students with 30 credit hours and a 2.5 GPA. Deadline is March 1. 3099. HAYDEN SCHUETTS MARKETING CLUB. Open to Marketing majors in the Marketing Club who have completed 75 credit hours with a 2.5 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate leadership in the field and have contributed to marketing club, the department, and the University. Deadline is March 1. 3152. JOHN H. WISEMAN FINANCE. Open to declared Finance majors. Financial need may be considered. Deadline is March 1. 3159. FIROOZ HEKMAT MARKETING 3162. MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT. This scholarship is awarded by the department to give recognition to those Management majors who achieve outstanding scholastic performance and are making significant contributions to the department, campus organizations, and community. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0, a 3.25 GPA in the Management major, and have completed 85 credit hours. Deadline is March 1. 3167. TOM AND BETTY FULTON. This scholarship will provide international opportunities for students at Southeast Missouri State University. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who have had limited international experience. The scholarship may be used toward any of the international programs sponsored by the University. Such programs may be short term (a few weeks) or long term. The scholarship may be given for any purpose including travel and living expenses. Deadline is March 1. 3177. GLENN J. AND HELEN F. HUTSON. Applicant must be a resident of Cape Girardeau County majoring in Business. Deadline is March 1. 3185. THE BRUCE K. EDWARDS. Open to students who participate in a sport while majoring in a business field. Financial need is also a consideration. Deadline is March 1. 3190. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS/CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY. Open to students who have an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, have demonstrated leadership, and are admitted to the MBA program at Southeast. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.75. Deadline is March 1. 3196. WILLIAM AND EVELYN VOLENETZ. Open to students majoring in Business with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and financial need. Preference will be given to a student from St. Louis County. Deadline is March 1. 3208. ALBERT FELDHOFF MEMORIAL. Open to students from Southeast Missouri with preference being given to employees and/or children of employees in any of the donor's business ventures. Applicant must have a B (or B+) high school GPA (unless otherwise approved by the donor). Financial need may be a consideration. Applicant will be required to sign a release stating Southeast Missouri State University will have permission to divulge information to the donor in reference to the recipient's GPA, class attendance, or any other privacy act information. Deadline is March 1. 3209. MADISON MEDICAL CENTER/MADISON COUNTY. Open to students of Madison County majoring in Healthcare or Business with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Financial need is a determining factor. Deadline is March 1. 3222. GEORGIA ROEVER HOEMAN. Open to average students cumulative GPA not to exceed 3.0) majoring in Business who show financial need. Deadline is March 1. 3229. WALTER H. "DOC" FORD MEMORIAL. Open to students majoring in Economics, Political Science, or Education. Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA and evidence of financial need. Preference will be given to a male or female basketball player. Deadline is March 1. 3232. BANK OF AMERICA - COLLEGE OF BUSINESS. Open to students in the College of Business with financial need who do not otherwise qualify for Southeast's merit scholarships. Incoming freshmen must have a 2.5 high school GPA. Once enrolled, recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA in their Business major and have an overall 2.5 GPA. Deadline is March 1. 3253. DON C. BEDELL EXCELLENCE AWARD. Open to students majoring in Business with a 3.0 GPA. Incoming freshmen must rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class. Deadline is March 1. 3275. MARGARET "PEGGY" SPRADLING ACCOUNTING. Open to undergraduate or graduate students who are U.S. citizens and Accounting majors. Preference will be given to highly motivated students with grade point averages comparative to high academic achievers. Deadline is March 1. 3284. ROBERT MOTHERSHEAD ACCOUNTING. This scholarship is open to Accounting majors with first preference given to Kelly High School graduates. Second preference will be given to students from Scott County and then to students from the University's core service area. Deadline is March 1. 3297. ROBERT MOTHERSHEAD ACCOUNTING. Open to Accounting majors with first preference given to Kelly High School graduates. Second preference will be given to students from Scott County and then to students from the University's core service area. Renewable with a cumulative 2.75 GPA and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Accounting courses. Deadline is March 1. 3324. FRANCES E. DANIEL. Open to Charleston Missouri R-1 graduates seeking a degree from the College of Business. Financial need will be a consideration. Deadline is March 1. 4131. CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY LEGAL SECRETARIES. Open to full-time students pursuing study in a legal field who are from Cape Girardeau and have a 3.0 GPA (or the equivalent high school GPA for incoming freshmen). This scholarship requires a separate application available in Student Financial Services. The completed form should be returned to this office, or contact the Accounting and Management Information Systems office at (573) 651-2121. Deadline is February 15. 4163. KPMG PEAT MARWICK. This scholarship is worth $500 per semester or $1000 per year. Applicant should be a graduate in the upcoming year, a member of the Accounting and Finance Club, and be planning a career in public accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicant must submit with application a typed 50-100 word statement indicating why the applicant thinks he or she should receive the KPMG Peat Marwick scholarship. This scholarship requires a separate application available in Student Financial Services 5006. ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE CLUB. Open to accounting majors who are club members. Awarded annually on the basis of multiple criteria. For application procedures, contact the Accounting and MIS Department at (573) 651-2121. Deadline is April 15. 5004. LEAP Scholarship. Go to http://222.leap-forward.com/ to apply for Accounting majors. Funded by the generosity of CPAs across Missouri. Deadline is January 15. 5025. JOHN GLASS MEMORIAL. Open to Business majors who have completed 35 credit hours at Southeast with a 3.0 GPA and who have demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to students with 45 credit hours completed. Deadline is March 1. 5030. INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS. This is a fall scholarship whose amount varies. It is open to students in Office Administration and certificate programs who have completed 12-15 credit hours. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA and are required to submit, with application, a brief statement indicating why they should receive this scholarship. This scholarship requires a separate application available in Student Financial Services. The completed form should be returned to this office. Deadline is March 1.
