The Center for International Business Programs in the Harrison College of Business provides support for the international business major, and coordinates numerous international exchange programs and group immersion programs annually. Pictured below are students who traveled abroad in Cuba, completed an internship in Ghana and toured Europe during spring break. In addition, the center brings international speakers to classes to expose students to a multicultural environment.  Also shown below are recent international speakers in class.

More than a dozen exchange programs also offer students the opportunity to spend a semester overseas, with the student paying only Southeast tuition. Most programs are offered in English. For those unable to spend a semester overseas, numerous short-term programs of one to five weeks in length are offered at various times throughout the year.

In a recent article in the Journal of Education for Business, establishing a series of courses focusing on global issues and integrating international topics into existing courses were two of the ways discussed by which business programs could become internationalized. At Southeast, the Harrison College of Business has done both. Thus, students who graduate from the college’s international business program are prepared to meet the demands of today and tomorrow, both at home and abroad. At home, employers value employees with such skills as they begin to compete in the international marketplace with their products. Abroad, companies rely on these skills in order to do business with the U. S. market, the most vital of world economies.
