Teaching and Student Learning Conference Hosted by Harrison College of Business Business faculty and advisors from area community colleges were welcomed to a Teaching and Student Learning Conference April 14, 2004, in Dempster Hall. The conference consisted of two panel discussions by members of these communities. The first panel discussed "Motivating and Evaluating Students." Panelists included Mike Biting from John A. Logan College, and Keith Russell, John Cherry and David Starrett from Southeast Missouri State University. "Teaching Onlne and On-Campus Classes: Synergy or Not?" was the focus of the second panel discussion featuring Phyllis Sander from Shawnee Community College, Sue Counte from St. Louis Community College at Meramec, and Diane Primont and Dave Kunz from Southeast Missouri State University. A special session for community college advisors to meet with the Southeast advisors followed the panel discussions. A luncheon was provided with Dr. Terry Barnes, president, Mineral Area College, as the keynote speaker, to conclude the conference.
