The Human Performance Laboratory is located in the Student Recreation Center. The 1,400 square foot laboratory is fully equipped with state of the art metabolic measurement systems, 12-lead EKG, treadmills, Monark leg ergometers, a cycling simulator, lactate analyzers, and a collection of body composition measurement devices. The laboratory is used as a classroom for Exercise Testing courses and naturally for Exercise Physiology Laboratory sections.
The faculty and students of the Department of Health, Human Performance, and Recreation use the laboratory for data collection. The faculty of the department routinely present and publish papers with student co-authors. This demonstrates the dedication the faculty of the department have to involving undergraduate and graduate students in research activities.
