Dr.Cho is currently an Assistant Professor and Curriculum Coordinator of the Fashion Merchandising program at Southeast Missouri State University. She has taught a variety of courses including visual merchandising, retail buying, global fashion economics, retail strategy, social psychological aspects of clothing, and an independent study. She was a project manager at American Apparel and a merchandiser in a Minnesota-based baby products company. Dr.Cho enjoys teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students with her industry experience from national and international firms.

Dr. Cho’s research interests center on the internationalization of fashion brands, fashion consumer behavior, sustainable consumption, and small and medium-sized retailers’ strategies. Her research has been published in Service Industry Journal, International Journal of Market Research, Clothing and Textile Research Journal, Fashion & Textiles, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, and Marketing Intelligence & Planning among others. She has been the recipient of several research awards, including 2 Best Research Paper awards and 2 Second Level of research competition awards from the International Textile and Apparel Association and 1 Best Research Paper award from the American Marketing Science/American Collegiate Retail Association. Dr.Cho was the HES nominee for Departmental Outstanding Researcher in 2014 at Southeast Missouri State University and has received two internal grants to support her research projects.

She earned a Ph.D. in Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies with a minor in Educational Research Methodology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her M.S. is in Design and Apparel and her B.S. is in Retail Merchandising with a minor in Management from the University of Minnesota. Before joining SEMO, she was an Assistant Professor in Business Administration at Villa Maria College in Buffalo, NY.
