ED033. Alberta Macke Dougan Social Studies Scholarship

Open to full-time undergraduates entering their senior year at Southeast Missouri State and majoring in Social Studies, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students with financial need will be given preference. Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EG031. Heather Greene Endowed Scholarship for Special Collections and Archives

Awarded to a student with interest in working with the historic collections in the Special Collections & Archives at Kent Library, as demonstrated in an essay submitted with the student's application. Preference given to student pursuing either a major or minor in Historic Preservation. An archival project will be assigned to the award recipient by the Award Committee and the spring semester award will be contingent upon satisfactory progress toward completion of project. Deadline is March 1.

EJ003. William T. Jenkins Memorial

Open to university juniors pursuing a B.A. in History, a B.S.E. in Social Studies, or a B.S. in Historic Preservation, with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and no grade lower than a B.  Applicants must submit a current transcript and three letters of recommendation focusing on their potential for academic success.  Selection is made solely on the basis of merit.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EM008. Lawrence and Donna Marler

Open to Historic Preservation majors with a 2.5 GPA.  Preference will be given to high school graduates of the City of Ste. Genevieve, Ste. Genevieve County, Wayne County, Perry County, St. Francois County, the Southeast Missouri region, and the state of Missouri, in that order.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EM022. Mulkey-White Preservation

Open to second-year Historic Preservation majors who maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EN003. Nickell Regional History

Open to students with a cumulative 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need.  Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History and must have successfully completed twelve hours of history at Southeast with no grade lower than a B before applying for the scholarship.  Selection will be based on a demonstrated interest and experience in the history of Southeast Missouri.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EO009. Old Town Cape Scholarship

Preference will be given: first to full or part-time students who have a direct working association with Old Town Cape or own or work for a downtown business or organization; second to full or part-time students who have an indirect association with Old Town Cape or an immediate relative who owns or works in a downtown business or organization; and third to students majoring in Historic Preservation.  Applications must be returned to Student Financial Services by March 1.

ER005. River Bend Friends of Historic Preservation

Open to Historic Preservation majors with a cumulative 3.0 GPA who are dedicated to their field.  First preference will be given to juniors, and second preference to seniors.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

ES041. Myrtle Goodin Smith Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Open to students with a minimum 3.0 GPA in all university courses taken, who have a demonstrated interest in, and are involved in studying the history of Southeast Missouri; who are either undergraduate students entering their junior or senior year with a minimum of twelve hours of history credit at Southeast or graduate students pursuing a Master of Arts in historical research.  The selected candidate will be required to submit historical research in the history of Southeast Missouri on a topic assigned by the director of the Center for Regional History and agreed upon by the director and the recipient.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EW014. Elgie Woods Foster Dar

Open to undergraduates with 15 credit hours and a cumulative 2.5 GPA.  Applicants must be enrolled in History or the Historic Preservation program with an emphasis in local or regional history, and have a FAFSA on file.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

EZ001. W.H. and Sarah Bowers Zinn

Applicants must be from the Southeast Missouri area, be majoring in Historic Preservation, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.

0048. Christopher Schnell Phi Alpha Theta Scholarship

Open to members of Phi Alpha Theta pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.  Applications must be returned to the History Department’s office before March 1.
