Frequently Asked Questions

Private Rooms Available

Freshmen-In response to the demand from our current and our incoming students the Office of Residence Life is opening up additional spaces for students to select as private rooms in Dermont Hall. You can learn more about Dearmont Hall at http://www.semo.edu/housing/life/dearmont.htm.  We are unable to open rooms in other residence halls for first year student privates because the demand for these spaces, in halls such as the new hall, Merick, and Towers are so great.

For this fall 2013/spring 2014 academic year we have set aside 64 private rooms for incoming first year students. Please note the rooms are furnished with twin bed, desk and chair, and closet and drawer space. The additional furniture in the room has been removed to provide you more space. The room rate is based upon our approved room rates that can be found at http://www.semo.edu/housing/rates.htm Room rates for private rooms are the standard room change, plus a 50% upcharge. For a Dearmont room next fall this cost will be $5850.00 for the academic year. This cost does not include the cost of your meal plan and additional University fees such as course fees or other academic charges. For more information please contact learningcommunities@semo.edu

Transfer-Transfer private rooms will be available on the Transfer floor in Vandiver Hall. For more information please contact learningcommunities@semo.edu
