Miss Cinco has been affiliated at the IEP for 4 years. From 2009-2011, she served as a graduate assistant while pursuing her Masters in TESOL at Southeast. For the last two years, Miss Cinco has worked as a full-time instructor at the IEP, teaching mostly lower-level courses.
While originally from St. Louis, MO, Miss Cinco received a dual Bachelor's degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO in German and Communications in 2001. After that, she spent 6 years in Gwangju, South Korea teaching English - 2 years at private language schools and 4 years at Chosun University. When she wasn't teaching, Miss Cinco spent her free time in Korea studying Korean language and Taekwondo - she earned both her first and second black belts while in Korea!
In her free time, Miss Cinco loves to exercise -- jogging, biking, Body Pump, and Taekwondo. She also loves to travel. So far, she's visited 37 countries around the world, all of the continents excluding Antarctica, and hopes to explore more countries during her summer breaks! Miss Cinco is fascinated with foreign languages and cultures. She loves learning languages as well as teaching her native language, English, to non-native speakers!
