Dr. McCann previously served for 15 years as an academic advisor and career counselor to international students. He also taught Principles of Personal Adjustment and Career/Life Planning courses to both international and American students for several years. Dr. McCann has worked with the Intensive English Program for 9 years and primarily teaches reading and a course entitled "Achieving University Success." He lived in Europe for 2 years and has graduat degrees from three different universities.

When he is not spending time trying to maintain his New York accent, Dr. McCann enjoys listening to jazz and classical music, as well as reading spy and crime novels and non-fiction works on World War ll and the history of Africa and Japan. He enjoys teaching in the Intensive English Program because he can meet and work with students from the four corners of the world, which he says is like an overseas trip but without the packing, unpacking, or jet lag.
