Dr. Wheeler received a PhD in Reading and Language Studies (TESOL specialization), as well as an MA in TESOL, from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.  He has taught English as a Second Language to undergraduate and graduate international students, undergraduate and graduate courses in ESL reading and multiculturalism at SIUC, as well as EFL courses at Tec de Monterrey in Guadalajara, Mexico.  He lives with his wife, Rhonda, who also teaches ESL, and his dog, Max (currently unemployed) in Southern Illinois, and enjoys traveling in Latin America and canoeing Ozark streams.
