The Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology at Southeast Missouri State University, in cooperation with St. Louis Community College and the University of Missouri-St. Louis, is providing the opportunity for students in the St. Louis region to complete the requirements for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology in St. Louis. This is a 2+2 program because students seeking admission must first satisfactorily complete an Associate of Applied Science Degree from an accredited institution in an industrial or engineering technology related field with a minimum 2.0 g.p.a. (4.0 scale). The Associate of Applied Science Degree can be from St. Louis Community College or another accredited two-year institution. Upon being admitted to the Bachelor of Science Degree Program, students will be governed by the academic policies and degree requirements in place at Southeast Missouri State University.
The Bachelor of Science Degree is designed to assist individuals who have completed a quality technical program and, because of changing career goals or promotion opportunities in the work place, desire to complete a bachelor of science degree that will prepare them for industrial supervision or management positions. The program will be available entirely in St. Louis through a combination of courses offered by the three cooperating institutions. Each students program course requirements will vary, but generally students will be able to complete up to 68-70 credit hours at St. Louis Community College (or other area community college), up to 24-25 credit hours at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (or other accredited regional four-year institution), and 30-39 hours from Southeast Missouri State University (to be taught in the evenings and weekends at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley).
* Primarily as Internet and Web-Enhanced courses in the St. Louis region.
Each students program will be different. Because of different requirements for the associate of applied science degree, advisement is very important. Mr. Brett Richardson is the Coordinator and Advisor for the program. A copy of the program planning guide he will use to advise individual students appears on the next page.
