An award-winning microenterprise development program that was originally developed by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation as First Step, Operation JumpStart partners with organizations seeking to assist aspiring entrepreneurs realize their dreams. Combining nationally-recognized curriculum; coaching and mentoring; and rich online resources; this program can be the foundation you need in building entrepreneurial communities of opportunity.


Operation JumpStart leads you through determining whether a business idea is a feasible business opportunity. You will examine your idea from every angle and write a feasibility plan, which will help you decide if the business is a “Go” or a “No Go” before spending too much time or money.

The 8 week self-paced online course will help participants evaluate their business ideas from every angle through the completion of a feasibility plan. Interactive e-lessons and activities; e-mentoring on course content and assignments; access to templates, worksheets, and a discussion board; and additional learning on topics such as Marketing, Accounting, Legal, and Access to Capital build on each other to help participants decide if their business is a “GO” or “NO GO” before they invest much time and money into a new business.
