Hey all! Wow! This weekend was a major shocker to me! For some strange reason, I didn't realize that when I leave home to come back to SEMO, time doesn't stop for them when I leave.  The people I left behind are still living their lives, having fun, hanging out, and going to the mall or movies...without me. I'm here in Cape and they are at home going to the local community colleges OCC or WVC a.k.a. the "Bash".  My friends have made new friends at their schools, like I have done here but also have their friends that also stayed in Albion with them.  I don't know why I thought time paused back home while I was here, maybe it just never really occurred to me that they are moving ahead in life too.  When I went home this weekend, I found out so much happened in this past week.  Some things I was so shocked about I couldn't fathom the thought of it being true.  People my age are married and pregnant, some younger friends still in high school recreantly got injured in sports,  or others have done crazy things that I could have never imagined them doing. These people, my friends, are the ones that I have grown up with since I lived in Albion.  Not one effort was made by my "friends" to let me in on the "little" details from back home.  I don't think any of them even know that I still exist! I realized also that I have to make new friendships here because the ones at I left home are basically gone.  The thought scares me but also makes me understand that I have to grow as a person in my new life at SEMO by making new, more valuable relationships with my peers because who knows when friendships dwindle away. You may ask why I am telling you all about my sob story, but there is a moral...and that is make friends, keep friends and make your friendships last forever!!!!! Until next week, God bless!
