Hi all! Sorry it's been so long, you'd be surprised at how much more hectic life gets day by day. I have 3 big group projects that I'm trying to juggle along with all my regular homework. It's hard, especially when all the group members don't show up or participate! I'm excited about this weekend, my little brother has a soccer tournament is Sikeston so I can't wait to see him play! I get so into soccer games! I've put together a list of things that I've either learned myself or seen others find out the hard way about college life. Enjoy!
- Always keep an umbrella in your backpack, you never know when it might decide to rain
- If the sidewalk's wet, it's either raining or the sprinklers are on, it does you no good to stare at the sidewalk and wonder why it's wet until the sprinklers hit you(it is funny though to watch people do this)
- Capri Sun's are a must to keep in the fridge
- Don't be tempted to drink soda at every meal just because it's there to drink, try to only drink it at one
- It takes 7 minutes to get to the Polytech Building from Dearmont if you walk really really fast. If you walk slow it could take over 10 minutes.
- Save your work frequently on any computer on campus, you never know when a squirrel will shut down campus power
- You have to stop at the crosswalks, people don't stop for you :(
- Get to know the people on your floor, that way if you ever need to vent or get out of your room for a bit you'll have somewhere to go
- Buy a big dry erase board, it's fun to see what your floormates write on it
- Don't wear cloth shoes in the rain unless you want squshie shoes
- If you want breakfast at the UC, go around 7, if you wait too long there will be a long line and you could be late to wherever you're going
- If you eat at the Grill in the UC and you want onion rings, order them when you order you sandwich and yell it at them if they turn around, they get angry when you don't order onion rings at the same time you order your sandwich
- If you loft your bed, (and have one of the wooden beds) then the ladder side against the wall can double as a bottled water shelf
Well that's about all the tips I can think of at the moment! Hope it helps! Andrea
