A photo of Tara's roommate with a stuffed yak

Tara Cooper: Journal Entry 11/02/2007

Where to begin? It seems as though my life is a constant whirlwind. These past few weeks have been a blur with fall break, homecoming, and Halloween. Our fall break was basically a four day weekend of freedom from waking up early and going to class. I went home and had a great time seeing my friends and family. I visited one of my best friends at SIUE, and while we were there, my roommate kissed a stuffed yak (see the picture). The only problem was that fall break only lasted a mere four days!

When I returned to campus however, I was glad to be here and I felt at home. Homecoming was the following weekend, and I woke up early that Saturday morning and walked to the parade. I didn’t realize how many people attended! There were lots of people from the community, and that made me feel like a part of Cape Girardeau. It also made me realize that I have missed interaction with both adults and kids. It was a perfectly sunny; a beautiful day for a parade, and the floats looked amazing.

The rest of the week was semi-stressful due to a combination of homework and procrastination, but I bit the bullet and wrote my papers. I have been losing an increasing amount of sleep lately because I have been staying up later and later doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, such as hanging out, playing guitar hero, or watching movies. Alas, I have decided it is time to adjust my habits and start going to bed earlier. Starting now.
