Tara Cooper: Journal Entry 11/16/2007 As I sit here at my desk pondering what to write about this week, I can’t help but feel drained. If I were to sum up my week in one word, my word of choice would have to be tiresome. Last Saturday I woke up at 10:00 am because I knew I had a full day. Some friends of a friend were in town and I wanted to be able to meet and hang out with them but also have time to work on a physics paper. To make a long and dull story short, I spent the day walking across campus, staring at my computer screen and writing pages upon pages about the physics behind magnetic resonance imaging, and just hanging out while my roommate was off having a lovely, fun date with her boyfriend. I believe I was in my room for the night by 9:30 pm. The rest of the week proved to be fast paced and filled with homework. I think I spent almost a total of seven hours at the library in 3 days, but I realized that I really love it there: It is a great study atmosphere. Although I feel exhausted after this week, I must admit that it has been productive. One of the only fun things I did this week was go to family group on Tuesday night. I went to the house of Danny Poole with a few other freshmen, and he and Kim Straedey made us a whole entire Thanksgiving dinner! It was so delicious, especially the potato casserole… The only other “fun” (aka ZERO FUN) fact about my week was that in five days I experienced five fire alarms, one of which occurred at 8:20 am and the other at 2:00 am. Two words: Cold and Miserable. |
