Tara Cooper: Journal Entry 12/07/2007 The close of the semester brings about a mass of mixed emotions. The most prominent feeling is of joy and excitement due to the fact that there is only a week of school left before Christmas break. However, my emotions cannot be of sheer happiness because I still must take finals. I am also a bit melancholy because I have realized that the end of the semester means the end of classes and the end of seeing friends in class. I have met a lot of fun and interesting people in class this semester, such as my two lab partners, Earl Haug and Jordan Baker. They have made physics so much more interesting and humorous with their random, witty comments and occasional made up tongue twisters. On the other hand, I am ready to begin new classes. I am taking a psychology and an art class next semester, two types of classes that I have never taken before. I am pretty excited because I think I will enjoy both of those classes and I might even figure out my major! Here are a few random facts about my week: I attended 11 hours of lectures on the subject of the origin of life, my brain was cram packed with knowledge, I met my boyfriend’s dad, I was invited on a cruise to the Bahamas (I don’t know if it was a serious offer), my roommate left her keys in our room and I had to wake up in the middle of the night to let her in, and she came home one day with a pair of men’s pants, put them on, and took pictures. That is basically my week in a few short phrases. Some of my friends are making Christmas cookies and are then going to sing Christmas songs while Eric plays guitar, so I am going to go join them. This will be one of our last times to hang out with Ben Hooe, Eric’s friend and roommate, because he is moving into the Lambda Chi house next semester. I am speaking for all of us when I say, WE LOVE YOU BEN AND WILL MISS YOU A TON! Although Ben is leaving, another friend, Steven, is moving in. Ok, cookies are calling my name. |
