A photo of a Southeast Gymnastics Meet

Tara Cooper: Journal Entry 1/25/2008

Last weekend was my first weekend on campus, and it turned out to be pretty enjoyable.  On Friday night I went to the Houck Field House to watch the first home gymnastics meet, and it was awesome!  I love watching gymnastics and it was very exciting to me to be able to watch such talent in person.  There is another meet tonight and I am definitely going to attend.  On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went and saw the movie, “Juno”.  The film was very humorous, but also very sad due to the situations involved.  Sunday was a relaxing day filled with church, football, and sleeping, and since we had a three day weekend, I was able to leave the homework until Monday.

Although this week has only been four days of classes, it has dragged by.  I am drained already because I have gotten a lack of sleep this week.  It is very aggravating when it takes an hour to fall asleep some nights.  Luckily I do not have too much homework yet, but I know that I have some end-of-semester projects that I already need to start on.

I will have to say the hardest thing about this semester so far is the frigid and most unbearable cold.  It is currently 21° and feels like 12°.  Walking to class in this weather makes me yearn for spring and warm weather like never before.  I really want to get more involved on campus this semester and find a niche, so I hope that the freezing temperatures do not deter me.
