Tara Cooper: Journal Entry 03/07/2008 This past weekend was amazing. The weather was absolutely beautiful and I got to spend time with some great people. On Friday night, Kevin (the boyfriend of my friend Megan) came into town for a visit. The two of them, my boyfriend, and I ate dinner together and had a nice time talking. On Saturday it was about sixty degrees and sunny. I had a group interview for the Residence Assistant position and I was invited back for a personal interview! After that process I took a nap and then went to the mall and to Walmart with my roommate Elizabeth. Then I ate dinner with my boyfriend and once again we got together with Megan and Kevin and went to the SEMO basketball game. It was really fun and I enjoyed watching the game and seeing all the little kids that were there. On Sunday I went to church and spent the rest of the day working out, doing homework, and relaxing because it was absolutely GORGEOUS! It was sunny and seventy degrees. The day even ended with a breathtaking sunset that I attempted to take a picture of while riding in the car. My picture doesn’t do it justice. It is amazing what changes are brought about by the weather. Days like Sunday just make me smile and put my soul at rest. The beauty of the day just says “all is well.” It also unites students on campus because it draws them out of their rooms. I saw people running outside, playing ball, and playing Frisbee. I am so ready for spring. However, the weather quickly turned and by Tuesday the trees were iced over once again and the cold winter wind was biting at my nose. So far I have made it through this last week before spring break without too much trouble. I can’t wait to go home and just relax with my friends and family, although I don’t know how much I will get to just lounge around because I have lots of work that needs to be done. Either way, I am ready for a break and some much needed time away to see my friends and to just breathe. |
