Tara Cooper: Journal Entry 04/18/2008 Although doing homework and being focused on school is extremely important, I have learned that taking a break and hanging out with friends can be necessary to keep me from being driven insane by stress. This week I have put aside homework numerous times just to chat or take a walk. It has been very stress relieving. My friends and I cancelled our Florida trip that we had planned at the last minute and instead stayed in town Friday night and hung out. A few of us ate dinner at Port Cape down by the river and it was delicious. I had a barbeque chicken wrap and a sweet potato and just remembering it makes my mouth water. On Saturday a couple of my friends and I went to Sullivan, Missouri where they are originally from. It is a very small town and we were able to visit and meet some families, eat a tasty homemade brunch, and see a movie. My roommate and I were also taught how to shoot a few guns. Our friends like to hunt and really wanted us to experience shooting. It was a lot more fun than I had expected and I really liked seeing how powerful the kick back was. On Sunday I ate brunch at the UC and then slept during the afternoon. It was a nice, relaxing day. This week hasn’t been too terrible. Next week will be absolutely horrendous because I have so many tests, papers, and projects due. I am focusing on writing one research paper right now and I should have it done very soon. I have gotten eight hours of sleep each night for the past two nights and I am pretty happy about it. I can’t wait for this weekend even though I will be busy working on homework. Only three more weeks until summer! |
