Nikki Eggleston: Journal Entry 10/8/2004

Hey everyone!!  Wow, it is getting really busy for me.  Mid-terms are starting up.  Although I only have one, it is still a true college experience, at least for me anyway.  In high school I never had to take mid-terms.  We had final exams, but not mid-terms.  Well, SEMO had their first Show-Me Day and the Sundancers performed.  We performed well, a few mistakes from some, but we’ll make the excuse it was early on a Saturday morning.  The Sundancers practice Monday through Friday for two hours.  We also have to have three mandatory work-outs per week.  For any dancers who might be interested, you can visit our website:  www2.semo.edu/sundancers/

When I’m not practicing during the week, I’m going to class or studying, with the occasional going out night during the week.  However, on the weekends, I reserve my nights for my friends!  Being a Sundancer does have its advantages, the boys on campus will never turn a dancer away at a party.  There is always something to do here.  Always some place to go.

Homecoming is approaching quickly.  One thing that is different about Homecoming is that it is focused more around the Greek Life because those are the organizations that hold the dances afterwards.  Plus the Greeks also have floats and activities the week prior to the game for a competition.  I don’t know much about it all because I’m not in a sorority.  Maybe next year, I don’t know, it all depends on how busy the Sundancers get and with all my homework.

Just a little note on my picture, this is one of my professors.  He is really awesome and this is what he did to catch our attention for a speech on why you should wear a helmet.

Till next time, talk to you later!
