Well, I just had my last class of the year! It is so hard to believe that my first year is over already. It’s so weird to think that just a year ago I was getting ready to graduate and say bye to all of my friends, unsure of what was ahead of me. This has been by far the best year! I’m doing well in all of my classes while making so many friends.
I know it has been awhile since we’ve all written, but a lot of school work had to come first. This week was the first week in two months that I didn’t have multiple papers and projects due. It is hard, but time management is the key. Here’s a highlight of things that have occurred:
- The Red Hawk Basketball teams took a trip to Nashville for the OVC tournament. Our Lady Red Hawks placed second, but we have a great chance next year!!
- Spring Break was a great refresher from school and wonderful to see my family and friends.
- SEMO got the Facebook. It is a great way to keep in touch with friends who go to other schools, and a great way to meet new people here at SEMO!! Plus it is addicting, you find yourself doing that instead of homework!
- I pledged for the co-ed business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, and I was initiated last Saturday. It is a great way to meet awesome people and I’m definitely looking forward to learning from others and hopefully getting tips on how to be successful in the business world.
- Sundancer try-outs were bitter sweet. I made it again, but unfortunately not all did. However, we gained some excellent new dancers who are very beautiful with awesome talent. We are going to be awesome, and hopefully we will be going to Destin, Florida for Nationals next year.
- And now, I’m about to go home for the summer! I have had an excellent experience here at Southeast. I’m looking forward to even a better year next year! To those graduating seniors, good luck with graduation and make the best of this summer with you friends. I know it is going to be hard, but you have no idea what is ahead of you. You will make new friends, experience new activities, and the school work is challenging, but gives you a sense of independence.
Good luck everyone, and I’ve enjoyed sharing my year with you all. Don’t forget….come to the football games and basketball games to see the wonderful SOUTHEAST MISSOURI STATE SUNDANCERS!!!! P.S. It’s a picture of me and my roommate next year!!
