Dana-Leigh Formon: Journal Entry 1/22/2007 Free time during the break...Not so much... So I hope everyone’s Winter Break went well – I didn’t really get all too much time to myself, I had to teach dance classes both at my studio and at the arts school that I graduated from! It was nice seeing everyone, don’t get me wrong – I just wished that I didn’t have to prepare material for classes everyday (I’m so glad I’m not an education major, because this would drive me nuts!) Christmas was fine – Santa was good to me and brought me lots of pretty neat stuff. The hee-bee-jee-bees from Finals wore off sometime in between Christmas and New Years. I knew what I had gotten in all of them, and what my grades were – but it was just some crazy tension that I had accumulated from studying the same material every day for two weeks. I had to cut my break early to get back to good ole’ SEMO for headshots and dance shots for resumes and portfolios. ‘Twas fun! So the semester was a rude awakening – literally. Never in my life has 6am come so fast. Each one of my classes this semester starts at 8…beautiful… As you may or may not have remembered, I’m a 25 credit-hour student, and I’m a bit weary. Everything’s fine so far, but we just started rehearsal for 42nd Street (the school’s musical), and the Dance Ensemble (NOT to be confused with the Sundancers) is going to the American College Dance Festival (ACDF) and we start rehearsals tomorrow. I’ll be in rehearsal every night from 6-8:30 and then will have to come home to do two-or-so hours of homework because I’m trying to get into bed by 10 so that 6am won’t be as painful! BTW, you all should come see 42nd Street…it’s in April…yeah. |
