Dana-Leigh Formon: Journal Entry 3/30/2007
And all of the school was on Spring Break…Accept me...

So whilst everyone had cleared off of campus and begun their break full of cruises, beach volleyball, parties, fun, and laughter, I was among one of the only four people still left in New Hall.  No one in the cast of 42nd Street was given the luxury of a Spring Break – but I actually didn’t mind it!  What would I have done if I would have gone home?  I would have sat around all day, and ate…basically done nothing.  Here I was active and danced, sang, and acted in scenes all break long – and I enjoyed it!  Greg (one of the other journal participants) and I chilled out and went to eat a few times together with some of the cast members, it was cool!  Rehearsals are going well, although we’re running out of time!  Today is March 30, and we open three weeks from tomorrow!  Scary!  Technically we open in two weeks, because the last week of rehearsals are all full dress rehearsals!  I’m finishing up with my costume fittings and I actually have to get my hair cut for the show!  The show 42nd Street was set in the 1930s, so I’ll need to get my hair cut to just above shoulder length in order to fit the period – or else wear a wig…HECK NO!

Since mid-terms are over, that means that I only have about five weeks left until I am no longer a 25 credit-hour student…YES!  It wasn’t as bad as I had actually thought.  All you need to do is manage your time.  I never had free time, but that doesn’t bother me because than I wouldn’t know what to do with myself.  The next thing I know, it’ll be time to start school again, and HELLO Organic Chemistry!  Yeah, I don’t think I’ve ever been so scared to take a class before!!  I met with my BioMedical Sciences advisor today, and it’s official that I’m taking that next year (unless I do something horrible and don’t raise my B in time…which I can do!)  As far as I see things, it just takes optimism!

In another few weeks I also have my induction into Phi Eta Sigma…which should be cool!  It’s a freshman honors thingie that you’re in and then apparently it turns into Phi Beta Kappa once you become a Junior…I like “being Greek” without actually having to “go Greek”…because actual social sororities and fraternities just aren’t my thing.  I am also trying to get into Alpha Epsilon Delta, the Pre-Med one, I’m really studying my butt off to get my grades to get there!  Think happy thoughts for me!
