Why did I choose to attend Southeast?

I chose to attend Southeast Missouri State University for a number of reasons.  The first reason I chose SEMO was the class size.  In all the research I had done while looking for colleges I noticed universities repeatedly advertising  their average class sizes.  I came to realize the importance of it.  Small class size means that you have more of an opportunity to create relationships with the teacher.  That is the first step in getting the most out of ones education.  Another reason why I picked SEMO was the campus.  I didn't want to go to a huge school where I would get lost in the crowd.  I didn't want to go to a small school where I wouldn't have several opportunities to join clubs and meet friends.  The first time I visited SEMO I noticed it as being the perfect size for me.  The campus's layout made it feel like a huge school, yet the students attending made it feel intimate.  I also noticed that it had breath taking scenery.  I came in September, the leaves were changing but there were still flowers surrounding all of the Southeast signs.  Academic Hall looked so collegiate surrounded by the flowers and leaves.  I knew right away that I belonged at  SEMO.  It was love at first sight.

What have my experiences been as a Southeast student since I moved on-campus and classes began?

My experience here at SEMO has been much different than I expected.  I do not know what I was expecting, but everything is new and exciting.  Since my first day of moving into the dorms my life has changed in every aspect.  I have made many new friends.  The girls on my floor are so much fun.  We have great chemistry together.  The girls are nice and easy to be around, because we are all interested in finding new friends.  Living in Towers is like being in a sitcom.  It is exactly like living in an apartment with all of your best friends.  People are always coming and going and inviting whoever is interested to do some fun activity or to join a new club. Classes here at SEMO are great.  All of my classes have 30 or less students, this means my teachers already knows my name and it is only the second week of school!  This is important to me because I will grow closer to my professors and be able to ask them for help. Since the first day of school, I have been trying out and joining all the campus groups I can.  It is a great way to meet people who are interested in the same things you are.  I have also taken advantage of the student center whenever I can.  This school has great resources, and I fully plan to make the use of them. I have loved being at this school, and I have only been here for two weeks.  I can't imagine the fun and deeper relationships I will form as the semester continues.
