It has now almost been a full academic year. I am nearly in awe that my freshman year at SEMO has flown by so quickly. I still must get through finals but after that there is summer to look forward to.
As a reflection of the school year, being this is my last journal entry and all, I must say that college has been above and beyond what I expected. This year, these last nine months, I have made new best friends, become independent, discovered (moved to) a new city, and robbed a bank. Okay, so I’m kidding about the last part, but I have grown so much so fast. I’m not the kid that I was when I took my first steps into Towers East with a heavy box filled with shoes. I’m a young woman now leaving Towers East with a heavy box of stilettos. I’ve received the full college experience that I’ll be telling my children about for years to come. I have planted in my memory the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of it all. I know now that SEMO is where I belong and I would have had my freshman year at NO other school.
As every chapter in my life comes to a conclusion I’m always left wanting. Wanting more out of my story and brimming to see what adventures come next in the chapter entitled Kayleigh’s College Days—Season Two.
