One plus to being in college is the extended breaks that you never got in high school. This past break has been just that. After finals were over, I was excited to get back home and just relax for a while, no classes, no papers, no exams, just time to relax. I went to visit my family in Mississippi for Christmas and got to get away from the cold weather for a while. I spent time with my friends at home and those from high school, as well as with my boyfriend. I spent an entire month at home doing nothing too productive.

But then in that last week or so, it dawned on me; it was about time to return to school. I was dreading this semester because I have harder classes as I am seeking admission into the nursing program for next semester. My two most dreaded classes were Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology. I did return however and reunited with my roommate and other friends here at SEMO. One thing struck me as odd...it was harder to return this semester after spending an entire month at home with loved ones. Adjusting to that first week back was harder than I thought. I'm finishing the first week of second semester and things are a bit different than the first. I have less time to myself due to the fact that my classes extend farther into the day. I took later classes this semester so I could rest longer. My classes are slightly harder which requires more studying time. All of these things are to be expected though because no one said college would be easy. It all requires adjustments, but nothing is extremely overwhelming. I'm looking forward to this weekend because if nothing else I will have time to rest. That's all for now.

Talk to you next week.
Jessica
