Jessica Lenoir: Journal Entry 2/22/2005

I can hardly believe it, but I am entering the sixth week of my second semester here at SEMO. Days are passing by faster than I had expected them to. In only two weeks, we go on Spring Break. Just the vacation I need. This has been one of those milder weeks for me. Unexpectedly, things haven’t been too busy like previous weeks of this semester. For a while, things were going so fast I thought I would never catch up. After a busy day of classes followed by or with a couple of hours of work in between, all I had time for was studying and then sleep.

I got a brief vacation home this weekend. There was a college fair in Kansas City on Saturday and I was able to ride home with one of the admissions counselors. It was just the thing I needed. I saw my family, my niece, my friends, and my boyfriend. Although I was only there for one day, that was enough to hold me over until Spring Break. Then, I get to stay home for a week and a half. That’s enough time to go all the places I want to go, do all the things I want to do, and see all the things I want to see. I haven’t been to the mall since I was at home over Christmas Break. That is definitely one of the first things I will do upon my arrival to Kansas City.

Classes are going well so far. The pace of things has livened up a bit since last semester but I’ve been able to stay on track so far. We will see though after six week grades are posted after this week is over. I was admitted into the nursing program! I entered Southeast undecided in my major. I was interested in nursing but not prepared to make any commitments. After scheduling my classes last semester, I applied for admittance into the fall class because admittance into the program is so competitive. I received my letter last Monday. All I have to do is maintain a C or better in both my Anatomy and Physiology and Chemistry classes and I’m in.

Well that’s about all that I have for you now. Stay posted as I hope to have more exciting things to share with you. Until then.

Jessica
