Josh Nash: Journal Entry 9/30/2005

So far, so good…..Southeast is treating me pretty well. There’s never enough time to do all that’s offered here, though. Class work and studying take a bunch of my time up, but I’m finding ways to still have fun. I’m involved in tennis through intramural sports and that’s always a good way to have fun and exercise at the same time. I’m a member of RHA (Residence Hall Association) and secretary of Biology Club. I’m also discovering new things to do, like sand volleyball. I don’t believe I’ve turned down an invitation to play volleyball since I’ve been here.

I’m living in Towers East and it seems to be the perfect place to live as far as proximity to classes and the cafeteria are concerned. I live on the second floor, so just one floor above me is the Towers Cafeteria and one floor below is Rowdy’s where I can get some quick food and can use my Student ID to pay for it. I’m also only a short distance away from where most of my classes are. The only negative is that even though it’s a short walk, it’s a steep one. Oh yeah, and there are those pesky fire alarms. It’s gotten a lot better since school has started, but occasionally you’re going to get one real early in the morning and it’s not too fun. Again, I’m really glad I live on the 2nd floor because I don’t have to walk very far when the alarm goes off.

Everything seems to be going so fast though. It seems like only a couple of days ago that I moved in. Southeast is really starting to feel like home now. I can’t wait to see what the next few weeks has to offer.
