Greg Pearson: Journal Entry 10/5/2006 Why did I choose to attend Southeast? I had never even heard of SEMO until I received a postcard in the mail that was promoting the river campus. Since a lot of schools do not have a specified Musical Theatre major, it was real hard to find good school. I thought to myself that I should look into SEMO. So I did and I LOVED it! This school is truly blessed to have such a good Theatre & Dance program which is what I was looking for when choosing my college. The professors in the Theatre & Dance department seemed really down to earth to me. At other colleges I had visited, everything they said felt like it was going over my head. I think I made a great choice when I choose to attend Southeast Missouri State University. What have been my experiences as a Southeast student since I moved on-campus and classes began? So far, I have made an unbelievable amount of friends. Since most people from Tennessee don't know about SEMO, I only knew of one other person coming to this school and he just happened to be a Theatre major like myself from Tennessee. I do give credit to the SEMO Theatre Open House for the connection. It seems like there is always something to do here at SEMO, whether it is a sports event, club meetings, or just eating with friends. The professors also seem to be very down to earth. They are not the type of professors that people see in movies where they are strict and proper. Since moving in, I haven't had a dull moment yet. |
