Christina Vitale: Journal Entry 1/25/2008 This week has been a busy one! I’m getting back into the swing of things, figuring out when I have time for laundry, getting to know my professors’ teaching styles, and I’m even learning the ins and outs of course websites. Last semester, very minimal parts of a couple of my courses were on-line; however, this semester, almost all of my classes have websites, which means online calendars, quizzes, and forums. The Speaker’s Showcase on Wednesday went really well! I gave a speech on the importance of the youth’s vote. It’s surprising to see how much impact the youth could have in elections as a whole demographic. Dance-apalooza has also been exciting. It’s very interesting for me to be involved, because I don’t have a lot of dance experience. The dancers learn large pieces so quickly that would be extremely hard for me to try to tackle even a piece of! Also, seeing the lighting and costume designers work is interesting. I’m seeing the whole process of designing everything that makes a successful dance concert. I know things are only going to get busier and more exciting this semester, and I can’t wait! But I’m also enjoying things like just goofing off with my roommate, Amy. The other night we took a break from studying just to style each other’s hair in ways completely out of character. Mine involved lots and lots of teasing, and hers was an elaborate 50s housewife hair-do. Check out the picture! |
