Michael Willis: Journal Entry 10/12/2007 Why did I choose to attend Southeast? Many reasons helped me decide to attend Southeast Missouri State University. One major reason was that it offered a wide variety of fields to explore. Secondly, it had a good program for students who were undecided on their major, like me. Currently, I am enrolled in pre-requisite courses for several different majors. Most of all, SEMO is located only an hour away from my home in Farmington, Missouri and only a half an hour away from my Grandpa in Sikeston, Missouri, therefore I am away from home but still close to my family. What have been my experiences as Southeast student since I moved on-campus and classes began? My experiences at Southeast Missouri State University have been wonderful. The biggest thrill that I have experienced was the number of new friends that I have met. I did not expect to make as many friends that I did within the first day or two of living on campus. Another amazing thrill I experienced was just the friendly environment by faculty and staff at campus. A friend and I got lost walking campus one day before school started and the staff was friendly enough to assist us as to get back to Vandiver Hall in the quickest way. There have been so many other great experiences that I have experienced at SEMO. |
