Michael Willis: Journal Entry 11/30/2007

Well due to this being my first entry in about a few weeks, I have a lot to talk about.  I'm sure wherever you all choose to attend college, you will find yourself so caught up into school, social life, etc, that you almost forget about these kinds of things.  But here's a summary of all that has been going on.

Well a couple of weeks ago, Chris Daughtry played a concert at the Show-Me Center.  I along with some friends went and it was really awesome.  I was told that in years past, SEMO has had many big name performers come and play at the Show-Me Center.  So that is definitely something that anyone should look forward to if they choose to come to Southeast.

I believe whenever I last wrote to you all, I was still an associate member in my fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha.  But the week of the 4th, we had our initiation week and I was activated as an active member.  I highly recommend anyone who comes to SEMO to check out the Greeks that we have here.  I honestly came to SEMO thinking that I was not Greek material and that I would never join.  But I recommend anyone to check out all the fraternities and sororities that there are.  I guarantee that there is a certain fraternity or sorority for everyone.  I'm loving every minute of being in Lambda Chi and I would not trade it in for anything.

School itself, I'm not going to lie to you all, has been really stressful.  It's getting really close to the end of the semester, which means finals are coming up.  I've been typing papers, preparing PowerPoint’s, giving speeches, and doing extra credit assignments 24/7.  If I had a nickel for every hour I have spent on homework, I'd be rolling in some money.  I think every college student will face this at certain times
throughout their college career.  But the way to handle all of it is to make sure you still have fun and go out with friends, but still do homework.  My advice to anyone is that you’re in college for a reason, so definitely work and work and work and work until the assignment is done.

Well the Christmas break is coming up in about a week and a half.  SEMO is pretty much off for about a month, maybe a day or two days less than a month.  It will definitely feel nice being able to work back home and make money, along with relaxing and recovering from finals week!
