Photo of Athens, Greece.

Tenecia Bryant: Journal Entry 1/1/2006

The first real shock of this international trip was when I got on the plane to Athens.  It seemed there were more Greeks than Americans on the flight from New York.  Before everyone even got situated in their seats, two passengers, both Greek, began arguing.  I remember in one of the pre-trip meetings our professor said most Greeks are very aggressive in their speech so I thought nothing of it at first.  But they got louder and louder.  Eventually, a flight attendant had to come and say something to the man that initiated the argument.

Aside from the fact that our flight was delayed for 2 hours because someone was smoking on the plane and there was an engine problem, the flight was smooth once we started.  The scenery once we got to Europe was absolutely beautiful.  The ocean, the mountains, and the land were absolutely gorgeous.
