Tenecia Bryant: Journal Entry 1/4/2006

Today we had to wake up at 6:00am to be ready to go by 7:15.  At 7:15 we loaded on the coach to head to the port to go on the Greek Island Cruise.  We drove through the city and saw a lot of businesses.  I noticed the gas stations were much smaller than the ones we have here.  One even had the pumps sitting right on the building.

Once we made it to the port, we boarded the Giorgis.  We were greeted by a man and woman wearing what I guess was old Greek attire.  The sights were beautiful, although the 3 islands we visited (Poros, Hydra, and Aegina) started to look alike.  On Poros, I sat in a puddle and had a huge wet spot on the back of my pants.  I think some guys that were standing nearby were laughing at me and talking me about because they kept looking in my direction, but I couldn't understand what they were talking about because they spoke a different language.  We ate lunch on the ferry that was taking us to the different islands.  The food was not the best that I had on the trip but is was okay.  We had a pasta similar to lasagna, meatballs, bread stuffed with spinach, and eggplant salad (which I didn't particularly care for.) The main course consisted of a baked potato and meat that I couldn't tell if it was chicken or turkey.  After lunch I was tired so I ended up taking a nap after the visiting the 2nd island.

We ate dinner at a small restaurant on the island of Aegina.  The man that worked at the restaurant tried to set me up with a younger guy that worked there telling me how nice, great, and sexy he was.  The younger guy was so embarrassed.  I though it was hilarious.  The boat ride home was rough because it began to storm.  Overall, it was a good but long day.  I will never forget how beautiful the cruise was.
