Designed to enhance both academic and personal skills, Learning Assistance Programs provides direct support and services, online and in person, to help students achieve their educational goals.


Center for Writing Excellence

The Writing Lab provides support to Southeast students to assist with writing development and understanding.

Tutoring

The Academic Support Lab is available to all Southeast students to assist with class assignments, test preparation, and much more.

Mathematics Learning Center

The Math Learning Center is staffed with faculty, graduate assistants, and student workers to assist with math questions, homework, and test preparation.

Mission and Vision

The Mission of Learning Assistance Programs (LAP) is to provide services to enhance both academic and personal enrichment skills through a holistic approach. The office provides direct services and resources through in-person and online programming to assist students in developing their critical thinking skills and supporting their educational goals.

The Vision of Learning Assistance Programs (LAP) is to foster and develop an academic environment accessible and equitable to all, regardless of disability, race, color, creed, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, gender, age, sexual orientation, or veteran’s status. Learning Assistance Programs strives to develop and retain students at Southeast through:

  • Provision of programs that focus on student success;
  • Encouraging personal responsibility for academic success and commitment to growth;
  • Development of transferable skills in and out of the academic setting; and 
  • Advocacy for at-risk students.
