An advising appointment is required each semester to be eligible to enroll.

How do I enroll for classes?

You must obtain your alternate PIN from your advisor in your advising appointment each semester to be eligible to enroll. Keep your alternate pin number; you will need it throughout the semester. The alternate pin number is different for each semester. Please check the portal prior to your appointment to verify that you do not have any holds on your account to prevent enrollment.

When can I enroll in classes for the next semester?

Priority registration for spring semester typically begins in November. Registration for summer begins in February; fall registration begins in April.

When should I schedule an advising appointment?

Contact your advisor in early February for an advising appointment for summer and/or fall registration. Advising for the spring semester begins in early October.

Who is my advisor?

Students are assigned to a faculty advisor when a major is declared, with the exception of Mass Communication students. New Mass Communication majors must meet department criteria to be advised by faculty in the department. The student is assigned to the College of Liberal Arts Advising Center until all admission requirements have been met. You can find your assigned advisor in the portal as follows.

  • Log into the portal at https://portal.semo.edu/
  • Select the Students Tab
  • Select My Southeast where it says, “Click here to open My Southeast Self Service”
  • Select “click on this link to access your self service page . . .”
  • Select Student and Financial Aid
  • Select Student Records
  • Select View Student Information

How do I know if a course is full?

Web registration will display a closed class with a “C” if you are using the "Look Up Courses" function. If you are actually registering for a course it will display the registration add error message 'Closed Section.'

What is a degree audit report (DAR)?

A degree audit report is the computerized version of the undergraduate bulletin that tracks progress towards meeting graduation requirements.

GPA Predictor

The GPA Predictor is an unofficial prediction. The official GPA calculation will be on the transcript at the end of the semester.
