Welcome The College of Liberal Arts offers traditional academic programs in Anthropology, Communication, English, Foreign Languages, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion and Psychology. In addition, the College’s School of Visual and Performing Arts provides professional preparation in Art, Dance, Music and Theatre for aspiring artists, performers and art educators. The College offers a variety of cultural programs during the academic year including theatrical and dance performances, recitals and concerts, and art exhibitions. The College-run Southeast Public Radio broadcasts a wide variety of classical music, information and cultural programming. The Southeast Missouri Regional Museum offers year-round exhibitions and workshops. Up-to-date information on activities and events sponsored by units within the College is available from the Cultural Arts Calendar. The College provides numerous opportunities for experiential learning. Students write and publish The Capaha Arrow, the campus newspaper, and go on-air over radio station KDMC, a student public-broadcast, low-power station. Students literary efforts are published in Journey, which is student produced. The University Press, which is housed in the College, offers student internships. The College provides essential services to many other University areas including the teacher education program and University Studies Program. In addition, the College sponsors the Center for Regional History and Cultural Heritage and the Center for Faulkner Studies. The College also supports The Cape Rock, a national quarterly published by the Department of English and edited by the faculty.
