Financing Your Education College is an important investment in your future. Although you and your family have the primary responsibility for financing your college education, you should not overlook the possibility of financial assistance. Students may access the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the Web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ or pick up a paper application at the Southeast Missouri State University - Malden (SEM) office. Entering electronically will provide faster results.
For additional information regarding financial aid, scholarships, etc., visit the financial aid pages at Southeast Web site. All financial aid is handled through the financial aid offices on the main campuses.
Additional information is available online through Southeast Missouri State University Student Financial Services. Any other questions can be answered by the SEM staff at (573) 276-4577 or 1-888-213-4601. Scholarships Scholarships will be awarded based on information given on the Fall Scholarship Application form, financial need and number of college credit hours taken at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden. This information will determine the amount of the award. Student must plan to enroll in courses at SEM for the Fall semester to be considered for a scholarship award. Student must be admitted to Southeast Missouri State University to be considered for award. Student should enroll for classes during early registration - in April - to be considered for an award. Opal A. Baskin Endowed Scholarship Recipient must be enrolled in classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden, must maintain 2.5 GPA, and have verified financial need.
Sheriff Jim Elliott Memorial Scholarship Recipient must be a beginning freshman enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden, must have graduated from high school with a 3.0 GPA, and have verified financial need.
First National Bank / G.M. Lawrence Scholarship Recipient must have completed 60 or more credit hours and must be enrolled in classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden, or must have attended classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden and be attending classes at Southeast Missouri State University. Recipient must be enrolled in upper division classes (this includes Elementary Education Block II classes).
John A. Howell Bootheel Education Center Scholarship Recipient must attend Southeast Missouri State University - Malden, may be enrolled in any field of study, and have verified financial need.
Val and Helen Mitchell Scholarship Recipient must attend classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden. One scholarship will be given per school to graduates of Bernie, Campbell, Clarkton, Dexter, Gideon, Holcomb, Kennett, Malden, New Madrid, Portageville and Risco High Schools.
William R. Nolan and Linda Matthews Endowed Scholarship Recipient must attend classes at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden, must maintain 2.5 GPA, and have verified financial need.
Jean Provance Memorial Recipient must have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours at Southeast Missouri State University - Malden, must have a 3.0 GPA, and have verified financial need.
Southeast A+ Scholarship Students who meet the Missouri A+ Schools Program guidelines, live in one of the qualifying counties, and enroll as full-time, degree-seeking students at a Southeast Regional Campus in Kennett, Malden, or Sikeston will be eligible for participation in the Southeast A+ Scholarship Program. The qualifying counties include: Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Butler, Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne county. Checklist:
