Marching Band

Join us in making great music at Southeast Missouri State University, where the Marching Band has created powerful musical experiences since 1907. Founded just two years after Academic Hall was built, the marching band has more history than the Missouri State Flag and the University Alma Mater! You'll become part of the largest student organization on campus.

When you join the University Marching Band, you'll perform at all home football games, lead campus spirit rallies, march in parades, and showcase your talents at special high school marching band festivals. You'll help continue our tradition of excellence with performances like those at the 2023 Bands of America Super Regional in Indianapolis and the 2024 Bands of America Super Regional in St. Louis. Our storied history includes representing the university at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland and performing the halftime show at Super Bowl V in 1971!

Join the Marching Band

Rehearsal Schedule:

The Southeast Marching Band (MU386) rehearses on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. during the fall semester. Enrollment in the Southeast Marching Band is required for participation.

Rehearsals are held at the River Campus. Redhawks Football games are typically Saturday events. Home football games are held on the main campus at Houck Stadium. Each fall term, the Marching Band reports to campus one week prior to the start of classes for early week rehearsals.

Don’t have your own instrument? We offer rentals for mellophones, baritones, sousaphones, and percussion, with a limited number of piccolos, clarinets, saxophones, and trombones available.
