The Southeast Missouri State Technology Village is an exciting new 400-acre mixed-use park.  The site embraces the local agricultural flavor of Southeast Missouri while emphasizing development of plant science and environmentally friendly technologies.  A new interchange will allow access off Interstate-55 to the village.  The Village opening was originally slated for the Summer of 2009, but now expectations are for opening in 2011.

INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:  June 2009:  According to Kelly Green, Cape Girardeau City Engineer, LaSalle Road is due to start construction in the Winter of 2009, with expected completion in early 2011.  The road will be two-lane, according to Scott Meyer, director of Southeast's facilities management department, because of budget issues, he said.  It will only be four-lane in one area, on the north end.
  • The East Main Street extension into Jackson, Mo., is complete and has been open to traffic since January 2008.
  • Northbound and Southbound I-55 bridges are complete and traffic flow has not been disrupted since before Thanksgiving 2007.
  • Old Orchard Road is currently being designed by Kohler Engineering and the road is expected to be completed also in 2011.  This is an internal, local road and will serve as an outer road between the current two, I-55 Jackson interchange exits.
  • Construction of internal offices and storefronts will begin later this year, or early next year. Currently, the hope is to have storefronts open by the end of 2011.
