Woodcuts, Engravings and Lithographs: Selections from the Permanent Collection

Southeast Missouri Regional Museum presents Woodcuts, Engravings & Lithographs: Selections from the Permanent Collection. This exhibit features eight prints made by wood engravings from drawings by Winslow Homer, which were published in Harper's Weekly during 1869 and 1870. Homer, along with Honore Daumier, Paul Resika, Pablo Picasso, and other artists' created drawings that became woodcuts, engravings, or lithographs. These pieces represent some of the earliest forms of printable images and span several continents, with subjects including figures, landscapes, and architecture. This exhibit is free and open to the public and will be on display February 23 through March 25, 2007.
