Gary Lang: Out Standing Time showcases works created during the past five years. Lang is primarily known for his highly structured formal investigations of line and color. Compositions of large, bold, innovative, vertical, or interwoven lines produce dazzling optical effects with compelling meditative and ecstatic qualities. A digital piece is also included in this exhibition. See the video of Gary Lang at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um2d77n8-KE . (exhibit flier)
A fully illustrated catalogue with an essay by David Pagel, Los Angeles Times art critic and chair of the Art Department at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, Calif., and an introduction by Dr. Stanley Grand, Director of the Crisp Museum, accompanies this exhibition.
A closing reception for the artist will be on Friday, Oct. 10, from 4-6 pm, with artist's gallery talk at 5 pm.
