Jeanie Eddleman: Transition Spaces Series 10.2

“Jeanie Eddleman: Transitions Spaces Series 10.2,” opens September 17, in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum, at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

The public is invited to attend an opening reception from 4-8 p.m. October 1, with a gallery talk by the artist at 5 p.m. followed by a book signing. The exhibit will remain on display through November 21, 2010.

Jeanie Eddleman's exhibition consists of thirty drawings from her "Remember When" series. Eddleman creates detailed pencil drawings of buildings in southeast Missouri, rendered from historic photographs. She is drawn to these places because of their architecture and nostalgia. She also creates portraits and wildlife drawings.

Dr. Frank Nickell, Center for Regional History, Southeast Missouri State University stated, "Her drawings of the historic structures of southeast Missouri are valuable resources for everyone who has an interest in this region.  She shows us where we have been."
 
Recently, Eddleman published two books, Images of Bollinger County in 2009 and Shadows of Cape Girardeau County Yesteryears in 2010. In addition, she created a series of calendars of Southeast Missouri. Her works are in collections in twenty-seven states and nine foreign countries.

Eddleman earned her bachelor's degree in Commercial Art, Printing and Business and a certification in Art Education from Southeast Missouri State University. She taught art K-12 at Zalma, Missouri for 27 years.

Eddleman is the President of the Cat Ranch Art Guild in Marble Hill, Missouri, Chairman of the Board of the Tom Runnels Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Operations Manager of WESTRAY Photography and Studio in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Museum hours: Tues.-Fri.: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends: 1-4 p.m. For additional information e-mail museum@semo.edu or call (573) 651-2260.
