"Andy Warhol Photographs: Recent Gifts from the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program,” will be displayed at Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum November 1, 2013 through January 26, 2014.
The public is invited to attend a reception Nov. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. to view the collection, which was gifted to the Crisp Museum in 2011 by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Don’t just come to the opening of the Andy Warhol show on November 1, BE Andy Warhol. The Art Guild and Student Photography Association at Southeast Missouri State University are sponsoring a photo booth from 4-8 on Friday, November 1 in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum for the opening of the Andy Warhol exhibition.
Choose your favorite Warhol prop: Campbell’s soup can, Coca Cola bottle, banana, or don an authentic Warhol wig! Come and get your Warhol on!
The exhibition includes 93 Polaroids and 50 gelatin silver prints taken by the Pop-Art master, which feature celebrities such as Martha Graham, Carly Simon, Liz Minnelli, and Truman Capote, as well as portraits of patrons, friends, and anonymous models.
Landscapes and interior settings, both rural and urban are also included, which reveal an aesthetic of the banal as well as the transcendental.
