Andy Warhol Photographs
November 1, 2013-January 26, 2014
“Andy Warhol Photographs: Recent Gifts from the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program,” will be on view November 1, 2013 through January 26, 2014 at the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum.
The public is invited to attend a reception Nov. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. to view the collection, which was gifted to the Crisp Museum in 2011 by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
The exhibition includes 93 Polaroids and 50 gelatin silver prints taken by the Pop-Art master, which feature celebrities such as Martha Graham, Carly Simon, Liz Minnelli, and Truman Capote, as well as portraits of patrons, friends, and anonymous models.
Landscapes and interior settings, both rural and urban are also included, which reveal an aesthetic of the banal as well as the transcendental.
The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau, Missouri. For more information, email museum@semo.edu or call (573) 651-2260.
