Jun Kaneko
September 24-December 5, 2010

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum presents Jun Kaneko, from September 24 to December 5, 2010.

The public is invited to attend a reception on Friday, October 1, 4-8 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through August 9.

ART SLAM!, a lively debate/performance between two individuals centered on this exhibition will be Thursday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Audience members are encouraged to participate in the debate.

This exhibition is an extensive representation of Kaneko's work in lare scale ceramic sculpture, drawings and paintings during the last two decades. A prolific artist, Kaneko learns by process and through the dialog between maker and object, a distance he is constantly challenging, achieving an intimacy with his medium where his bold hand can seem invisible. Mainly identified as a sculptor, Kaneko also works on equally technical and innovative levels in glass, textiles, bronze, paper and canvas.

Tour Development by Smith Kramer Fine Art Services, Kansas City, Missouri.

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum is the sponsor of this exhibition. Financial assistance for this project has been provided by the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
