Wind Symphony/Orchestra - Audition Information
Auditions for Orchestra and Wind Symphony for fall semester 2013 will take place on Sunday, August 25 in CAC155 in the River Campus. Auditions will be behind a screen and suggested times are listed below. Strings
Strings (violin, viola, cello, and string bass) will audition for the Southeast Missouri Symphony Orchestra on Monday, August 26, 6:30 — 8:45 pm; Tuesday, August 27, 4:00 pm — 5:15 pm. Students can sign up with the room monitor in advance of the audition on each day. Excerpts are attached below (as pdf files). University Choir/Cantus Choralis - Audition Information
Auditions for choral organizations at Southeast will be: Sunday, August 25 from 1-6pm; Monday, August 26 from 12:30pm-2pm; and Tuesday, August 27 from 12:30pm-2pm. Please sign up for a 10 minute audition slot outside the Music Department office at the River Campus. Your audition will consist of: 1) prepared piece of your choosing (accompanist will be provided), 2) vocalizing to check range, 3) sightreading and 4) tonal memory.
Jazz Ensemble Audition Information
Auditions for Studio Jazz Ensemble for 2013-14 will take place on Tuesday August 27 from 2:30pm until 4pm in CAC155 at the River Campus. Auditions will consist of the preparation and performance of the excerpts posted below plus a short sightreading excerpt. No sign-up is needed, and all auditions will be behind a screen.
